Valentines Day 2019 Fundraiser had a great turnout — despite the snowstorm! We are grateful there were nearly 60 people and three children who joined the event.

Special thanks to Jerry Martinez and his manager Katarina at CJ’s Diner! The food and service was excellent . . . and, the cheesecake decadent. Black linen tablecloths provided by CJ’s were decorated with red carnations, baby’s breath and tea light candles by our volunteers (Johnie Ragsdale & Rene Nash; and, Stephen Baukat set up the presentation posters).

Gross Income — $1,929.55 (includes donations).

Net income — $1,157.06 (includes Point of Sale fees, food/dessert, decorations, and promotions).

Our goal is to raise a minimum of $200,000 to purchase land, and another event is planned to raise the balance of $7.5M. Durango Star Realty is representing Community Compassion Outreach to broker acreage that has water. The Village of Hope financials reflect a budget for two vans or small buses to ensure transportation for tenants from the village for medical appointments and shopping.

Meals donated to the Homeless.....
A homeless man, Michael C., enjoyed a steak dinner by a kind anonymous supporter.
Amber D., a domestic violence survivor, with two toddlers were treated by another supporter with a take-out meal; Amber ordered chicken fried steak and a deluxe cheeseburger. Our executive director personally picked up the order just before Noon and delivered it to the temporary housing where Amber’s son has had the flu for some time. Amber had missed work to take care of her sick two-year old and his sister (age 4).
